Worth EVERY penny!

When I needed a blogging application, I used to install Wordpress into my websites. Now that I have tested and used the EasyBlog component, it has replaced my Wordpress application and everything now stays within the Joomla! environment.

I have this blog running on my Woodlands Ad Agency website with Twitter, Facebook, and Feedburner integration turned on and it couldn't be any easier. If you have any needs for blogging - EasyBlog is one of the best blogging applications to date!

After downloading easyblog I couldn't get it to install. It seems that to apache servers had control over the directory rights. Easyblog support helped me to install the module. Great support really fantastic. Now it works great, easyblog is really easy to use.

First let me tell you I was looking high and low for a free blog offering. I even tried one but it was not very user friendly nor did it have many features.

I really like Joomla but the blogging capabilities are lacking. I needed a solution and Wordpress was not an option.

I decided after months of research to go with Easy Blog. I figured for the nominal fee if it didn't work at least I was not out a lot of funds....

Well I bought and installed it. It seemed to work right out of the box but then I had some frontend editor issues. I was trying to get an autosave feature installed through a new editor and that's when I noticed the problem. I filled out a support ticket and in no time I was in communication with the company and in less than 12 hours it was fixed.... and it was not really an Easyblog issue but then fixed it for me and told me exactly what they fixed and how they fixed it so for future upgrades I can modify the necessary files myself!

My first email went missing, but when I contacted them again two days later, I had a response within an hour. Being new to joomla and website building in general, I was struggling to get it up and running.

Well, within a few hours they had answered so many of my questions, fixed my stuff ups, got it running beautifully. When I asked how to change a particular feature, I got a response almost immediately ghat it wasn't a standard option, but that they'd gone in and altered it specially.

So impressed, it's doing exactly what I wanted, and the support is brilliant.

Just to save you time and efforts, get this extension. Don't look at the others, don't try to save pennies.

The component is very easy to install, although I had to do it manually because Joomla FTP Layer + Shared hosting didn't work very well together. Once FTP Layer was turned off, it is a great extension, user-friendly and powerful enough to meet enyone's needs.

Support was nice and helpful. Very good value for your money!

I have installed number of free extensions on my website but this was my first paid product. At first, I didnt want to spend the money, but after reading all the reviews I decided to bite the bullet. And now I am glad to say, it is money well spent. It is a great product with excellent customer service. Installation was somewhat trivial, experienced time out issue which was resolved by not uploading and installing at the sametime. Rather, I uploaded manually and then installed it from there. There are other ways like changing php configuration file but that didn't work for me. documentation is really good. for the most part, integration with social media such as twitter, sharethis, is pretty trivial. However, facebook integration requires some work. But, their tech support goes above and beyond to fix things for you. I have also added Simple Image Gallery which is a must have if you are planning to include images in your blog. Perhaps, they can improve on that in their next version.

One look at the Blog category in the Joomla Extensions directory shows that there are many different blog solutions available to fulfill this need. However (currently) at the top of this list is EasyBlog, and with very good reason. It's the only one that provides a community blog component that can be easily used by all registered members of a community. And it does this extremely well.

We're deploying this extension on a community geared towards photographers. Installation was as easy as it gets, and administration is simple and straightforward. With very little effort, our members are now contributing to our site's content while building their own audience (which in turn becomes our audience).

The main component is flexible and includes many features that are usually only seen on full-fledged blog applications like WordPress. It's easy for all your site's members to associate their blog with their Twitter/Facebook/Feedburner/etc accounts so all updates get broadcast automatically. The available modules are convenient for featuring your members' blog posts throughout your site. And integration with popular community extensions like Community Builder, JomSocial and AlphaUserPoints is a welcome addition.

There are still some minor issues that need to be improved. A more seamless integration with a Joomla site's appearance would be welcome, for one. But these minor issues are all being worked on by the developers, and progress with each release looks fantastic.

One point that might discourage some potential customers is the price. This extension isn't free. However the support we've gotten for that price has been outstanding. Every time we come across a problem, there's someone there to help us. Whether on the forum, via email, or through their support ticket system, customer support is top notch and worth every penny. In light of this, I consider the price a bargain.

StackIdeas recently introduced a lower-priced "Community" edition of this extension. While I applaud the concept, I think the price being asked is a bit much. It's almost the same price as the regular version. The word "Community" itself kinda implies "free", so maybe that wasn't the best thing to call it. I think they'd attract a lot more potential customers if they offered this edition at half the price of the regular version, and called it something that doesn't imply "free".

In the end, we're very happy with the choice we've made for our community, and we look forward to seeing what StackIdeas has in mind in the future for this extension.

I have EasyBlog installed and it is by far the best blogging software for joomla. The software is top notch. The support forum unlike a lot of sites is actually useful. And the support given by the guys at stackideas is top notch.

I would recommend this software to anyone. And would gladly by it again!!!

EasyBlog is easy to set up. The use of this program is almost self explained.(I have no experience in Internet at all!) It has quite complete features as a blogging tool. Best of all, the tech support is of quality, accurate and timely; it is so much better than crawling in forum and wait for your luck. Hope other programs also provide the same thing. A little charge, but it goes a long way, more than worth it.
