Who it is for
Joomla site builders and content editors who want to drop YouTube videos into articles or any custom-fields content through a proper field, instead of pasting iframe code into the editor by hand. Set the options once on the field, and every editor just pastes a link.

Features

• YouTube video field type — adds a new "YouTube" custom field you can create in any extension that supports Joomla custom fields: articles, categories, contacts, users and more.
• Paste a link or an ID — enter a full YouTube URL (a standard watch link, a youtu.be short link, or a Shorts, Live or embed URL) or just the 11-character video ID. The plugin extracts the ID and builds the embed automatically, so you no longer strip it out by hand.
• Width and height — set the player size in % or px.
• Privacy-Enhanced Mode (no cookies) — embeds through youtube-nocookie.com, so YouTube stores no cookies or tracking data until the visitor presses play. Useful for GDPR compliance.

PRO options

• Responsive or Classic mode (PRO) — Classic with a fixed width, height and left or center alignment, or Responsive at 100% width with a 16:9 or 4:3 aspect ratio.
• Click to Play, lazy load (PRO) — show a thumbnail with a play button and load the player (and contact YouTube) only after the visitor clicks. Better for privacy and page speed.
• Playback options (PRO) — autoplay, mute, loop, show or hide controls, fullscreen on or off, captions on by default, play inline on mobile, and a custom progress-bar colour. Options for related videos and reduced branding are included too, within YouTube's own current limits.
• Start and end time (PRO) — start and stop the video at a set number of seconds. You can also set it per video by pasting a URL with a timestamp (?t=90, &start=90, &end=120, in seconds or 1m30s format), which overrides the global setting for that one video.

How it works
Install the plugin, or use Install from Web and search for "Joomill", then enable the YouTube custom field plugin.
Under Content > Fields (or any custom-fields-enabled extension), create a new field of type "YouTube" and set its options.
Edit an article, paste a YouTube link or ID into the field, and save.
The video renders on the front end with the options you set.
