VirtueMart is a highly configurable and customizable multi-language shopping cart solution for Joomla 3, 4, 5 with a large number of additional extensions.

Based on Joomla MVC framework with all its advantages:

Functionality
After the upgrade I find it difficult to update a customer's order. You'll have to copy and paste the additional items to the order.
Ease of use
I like the old version where order edits are calculated in the new subtotal. Should show subtotal, discounts, new total. Customer confused
Support
Harder and harder to find support and ethical reliable Virtuemart webmasters
Documentation
Lengthy and it should be more in laymen terms rather that only for devs.
I used this to: Ecommerce online store. I have had problems with extensions not being updated and supported any longer by maker. It causes an ongoing problem and expensive having devs fix the issue to make it compatible with Joomla and Vm updates

Отсутствуют нормальные шаблоны для отображения карточек товаров и категорий товаров, все приходится допиливать вручную.

нет элементарной возможности группового изменения цен товаров, настройки разбросаны...

Functionality
Added virtuemart to site with basic built in PayPal and shipping. Got a lot more functionality under the hood plus many third party addons.
Ease of use
To a bit of work to set up but worth it. Lot of additional features if needed. Site now getting regular orders.
Support
A lot of information and support available via the Virtuermart forum.
Documentation
Plenty of documentation available online. Would prefer a quick guide setup to get going with basic pricing and no tax etc.
I used this to: Used this to set up new website to sell lawn bowls online and worked well.

Functionality
There are a lot of features to manage the shop and products i would not have expected so much, maybe even too much
Ease of use
Not always easy to understand because there is so much complexity and options, the interface is old and outdated
Support
For a free extension there is not so much support, only some forum if someone answer
Documentation
I used this to: Make a shop for our company website, we tried even other extensions but this one looks the better

Utterly Broken

Functionality
Dropdown menus do not function. Fix suggested by devs is to disable jQuery (a necessary functionality for today's websites)
Ease of use
It took around an hour to complete initial setup up to state/province selection dropdown which did not populate with states.
Support
This is supposedly a community project which no longer is in development. Support is a dead forum. Devs are rude when replying.
Documentation
Documentation that exists is for a much older version which s no longer supported and does not function
I used this to: Since the extension does not work, I apparently use it to waste my time and system resources.

Functionality
Many options for websites shopping from simple to complex, meeting the basic requirements of economic systems
Ease of use
It will be difficult for those who don't have a bit of programming knowledge, but I think it is for programmers (coding Joomla)
Support
Almost no one supports outside the community, go to the forum and talk to people, you can find it all from there
Documentation
Describe only basic issues and complex issues that require knowledge of programming and understanding of Joomla to manage.
I used this to: Large projects that require a flexible trading site can create orders, invoices, mail, coupon code..If you want to free it is the top choice

Not easy to use it for new user. The admin interface is not good for Joomla 3

Podría mejorar, pero no la verdad hay mucho creado en la red, aunque no sea de los creadores.

I chalkenge anyone to say it's intuitive... and i have 14 years of experience with ecommerce and in particular witj joomla
Support
Any functinality even among the basic you have to buy and pay... but it's not woking... i only lost my time and money... no refund
Documentation
Documentation, video and web partly concerns the tool and in versions from years ago
I used this to: I couldn't use it, after a month of trial and contact with the support, no solving response and it doesn't work. I changed tool and solved problem, but no refund.
