Functionality

Full featured for SEO, now with great and simple social sharing features

Ease of use

Simple to get going with a minimum of effort, but time spent e.g. improving meta data is well worth it for the results it gets

Support

Excellent. I had problems with an obscure case not supported by sh404sef, but received very helpful advice rather than an "out of scope".

Value for money

Not especially cheap, but you get what you pay for.

I used this to: Community website involving lots of custom PHP code, originally on J1.5 and recently upgraded to J3.4 with very few problems.

Absolutely rubbish support, They are blaming our hosting and we are using a VPS server and we can't access the title and meta data section.

We unfortunately have a conflict with this user, who doesn't want to hear that his VPS is timing out while running a (complex) database query and that there is probably something wrong with his VPS MYSQL configuration. Providing configuration values for MYSQL is totally out of both support and simply our knowledge and abilities.

Functionality

Quite amazing really in what it does and how it does it. Simple to set up yet far reaching if you choose to take it further.

Ease of use

Easy to get started and have it create SEF URLs as well as short URLs. Social Media integration is the easiest, best described I've seen.

Support

Excellent, swift and thorough. I had several issues on a complex site and all were answered and solved quickly.

Documentation

The true measure! This extension sets the bar for how to do effective documentation. Easy access from website or within the extension itself

Value for money

If I made it, I'd probably charge 2-3 times more. This developer has done an amazing job.

I used this to: SEF URLs for a complex, eCommerce site, plus efficient SEO meta tag generation and social media integration.

Functionality

I used sh404SEF in Joomla 1.5 projects and it worked well. When I used it (v4.4) with Joomla 3 project, it does not work with JPagination.

Ease of use

Pretty easy to setup for the parts that work.

Support

For many versions of sh404SEF, many people have posted online that they are having similar issues, but sh404SEF has not solved the issues.

Value for money

Considering sh404SEF is paid, JPagination is well used, and Falang is popular, sh404SEF really should fix the issues a long time ago.

I used this to: I struggled with sh404SEF, JPagination and Falang language switcher for a long time and finally gave up. I have now switched to JoomSEF. JoomSEF works and it's free.

Not working with JPagination? I have no idea what you mean by that. I suggest you read our blog (https://weeblr.com/blog) and go to page 2 or 3 to see JPagination at work. Or the few tens of thousands of sh404SEF+Joomla 3 sites with many paginated views of Joomla, K2, Virtuemart, Hikashop, Jomsocial, EasyBlog, etc

I haven't seen any forum post related to that either, and we have Google alerts set up for "sh404SEF" with daily reports, so it's unlikely I would have missed anything that big (how could a joomla web site work without JPagination??)

In addition of course, if you have issues, there's always support and we haven't had anything related to JPagination in the, well, I don't remember anything since the release of Joomla 1.6 in 2011, so my guess is that you haven't contacted support about your problems. You should. We're usually (see other reviews) considered like very good at support.

Now of course if you were using Falang, that would not have been useful. Falang not being compatible with sh404SEF is stated in the requirements.

By the way, why do you say sh404SEF is not compatible with Falang? Did you post a negative review on Falang listing saying it's a shame because it's not compatible with sh404SEF? Why do you blame sh404SEF? We have strong support for Joomla native multilingual system, and this is what we see web developers using now.

It is almost work out of the box if you only want simple options but if you need to do more, there are a lot of more options for great seo.

Support was amazing for me, i asked so much questions as a newbie and they answered to everysingle one with clear and nice explanation. thx

There is a lot of detailed documentation on the site and i use a few of them even as a newbie so i think this is a great adding.

Value for money

The better point is that it is totally worth the money, you can use it on several sites. The support and quality are great so it worth it.

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I was not able to relate your JED Name (Christian) to any recent support request, so I don't really know what you refer to and I can only reply in general terms, from past experience.
About being "logical", I think we can all agree that "logical" is a relative term. What's for sure is that sh404SEF does use a different logic than Joomla for some of its core features. That's basically the point: we're trying to improve on it. So for instance we avoid at all cost to use menu items to build URLs.

Regarding support, I think we now try to always go the extra-mile and do all we can to help solve problems. We're developers, so we call a cat a cat: when the problem is on us, we fix it. When the problem comes from another extensio, we clearly identify the source, explain it, and sometimes even provide a solution also for other people extensions.

Lastly, I'm really disappointed about your comment and note for documentation, because we've put a lot of effort in it. Many people find it clear and complete, especially the videos. I really wonder against which reference you compare when you say "poor documentation". Actually, the doc are freely available to all and every one can judge: https://weeblr.com/9k
