Functionality

Sophisticated tool that works without any flaws. Controlling URLs, SEO, redirects, 404 errors, security from a single extension.

Ease of use

Relative ease to use once you get the basic understanding of what's going on under the hood of the extension and Joomla

Support

I rarely needed the support - but when that happened the support was there and helpful.

Value for money

Definitely worths the money.

I used this to: any larger website where I need extended control over their URLs structure or other SEO related needs. It gives me the flexibility I am missing in Joomla.

Die Componente funktioniert einwandfrei. Leider ist K2 Funktionalität nicht mehr implementiert und als seperates Plugin zu erwerben

Ease of use

in Deutscher Sprache wäre die Componente um einiges benutzerfreiundlicher. Sonst gibt es aber nichts auszusetzen.

Einfach super. Schnell wurde mir geholfen und selbst als sich das K2-sh404SEF Plugin nicht installieren ließ hat man weiter geholfen.

Good. For a business owner SEF as component part of SEO are new ways of thinking. So took some time to understand the language "Jargon"

Not really impressed. Tend to be off handed and a little condescending. I would suggest they have little or no customer service training.

Documentation

OK. Probably needs a community forum to support give a reference point for in-depth issues

Value for money

OK. I suspect if we ever wanted to uninstall it we would have so issues so we are stuck with it

Sorry you didn't have a good support experience. I don't believe this is typical, we actually tend to go beyond support in many cases. We agree with your comment about the benefit of a public technical "reference point", which is why we make support tickets public and available to anyone on our site (after removing confidential details).
The public tickets page on our site is also a good place where anyone can judge for themselves how we support our users and whether we deliver what we should.

In the more than 7 years that sh404SEF has been a paid-for, GPL-licensed extension, I think it's the first time I got a review such as yours, to be honest.

Usually people who get paid-for software from warez sites or such don't come forward and post (negative) reviews on public site, but it's your choice.

So yes, sh404SEF is commercial, GPL software, and it's been so for more than 7 years. We created sh404SEF, and developed it without interruption until today.

We provide technical support for it in what I believe is an efficient and fast way. You rated our support 51/100, but of course you didn't use our support, so I don't know where that came from.

You rated documentation 48/100, saying it's "N/A". Looks like you didn't see our very extensive documentation, which is freely available for all, at https://weeblr.com/9k. We have put a lot of efforts in this documentation, it's constantly updated with each new version, and I think it deserves more than 48/100. But of course, you have to look at it to appreciate its quality.

And finally, you stated that Value for money is "0", which is odd of course: you didn't pay anything, how can the value for money be zero?

Functionality

Does exactly what I need it for with easy url rewriting, aliases, adding a suffix to urls and adding meta info

Ease of use

Any extension with so much functionality takes a bit of getting used to but after a while it is very instinctive and easy to use

Support

Twice in the past 12 months I have used support, and both times was due to me making a silly mistake, but they sorted out the problems quick

As far as my knowledge goes, it does what it should do and what I couldn't do myself

Very easy to use. All extras that I don't understand I didn't touch so far.

Questions are answered immediately and I was assisted till the problems were solved. Outstanding support.

Documentation

Documentation is not detailed enough for a layman. Difficult searching if you don't understand the extension in detail. I am working on it.

Value for money

Great value for money. Getting all your websites rated better in Google for a few dollars.

I used this to: All the websites I am writing. I actually am not the one building or designing. There you might have the problem between developers and editors and the use of a complex extension.
