Introduction

Graphs and Charts, Calendars & Events, Forms, Content Construction, Maps & Locations

Fabrik is THE open source Joomla! application builder component.

Fabrik gives you the power to create forms and tables that run inside Joomla! without requiring knowledge of mySQL and PHP. Then feed your data into Google Maps, Charts or an AJAX based calendar.

With Fabrik you can create CCK applications that range in complexity from simple contact forms to complex applications such as a job application site or bug tracking systems.

Value for money

Functionality
There is a learning curve, but taking your time and using the wiki will help a lot. The forms have worked great for several years.
Ease of use
Learning curve, yeah. Once you understand the underlying logic, it's easy to create a form to do just about anything you want.

The Fabrik experts are great. Found almost every solution in the forum or wiki. Other issues have been addressed and eventually solved.
Documentation
Wiki could use some fleshing out, but overall very helpful.

Functionality
I'm a huge fan of Fabrik. If the information is in the database, it can be pulled out and used in a list or form on the website.
Ease of use
Fabrik is not the easiest program to learn, but once figured out, it is powerful and straightforward.
Documentation
I've struggled with the documentation, wishing for more details and trouble-shooting instructions.
Value for money
I used this to: I've made several lists and specialized apps for a writing website, including lists of stories without reviews and an app to help writers learn the components of a short story, as well as an app to support the bookstore we're developing.
Functionality
You can pretty much find a way to do anything you can think of with this extension. Very impressive.
Ease of use
A fairly steep learning curve to do more sophisticated things but you would expect that of something so powerful and flexible.
Support
Have had help with all my questions on the forums. Its worth getting a subscription if you are likely to need help quickly or a lot of help.
Documentation
Documentation and tutorials available. Some empty parts on the wiki but nothing vital is missing. I like the coding examples, always helpful
Value for money
I used this to: Developing my own database driven online application

Functionality
Its a Swiss Army Knive for Joomla based dynamic website
Ease of use
Since I am newbie for php and my sql, I feel this extension is very helpfull.
Support
I found that just spend a little time browsing inside forum is very valuable
Documentation
Documentation is enough for free support But next time I will try the premium one...
Value for money
I used this to: My website is for internal company use, micro version of ERP, I think....
Functionality
If you are looking for an app builder that is primarliy geared for table data, then this is the app builder to use.
Ease of use
Learning curve is minimal if you have basic SQL and DB knowledge.
Support
Outstanding. I posted in the community forum and got help within 48 hours. Recently, the developer created a patch on git per a question!
Value for money
I used this to: I created a scoring system for a sports league with this app. Users enter match scores, the match history is stored in tables, and the season records get automatically calculated and stored in a Season Record table. Makes scoring for our league a breeze
Functionality
What it says: build nifty web-applications, great if decent Jooomla-skills already gained - will leave question marks for beginners, maybe.
Ease of use
Ease of use got better a great deal than in previous versions - level of "buginess" significantly smaller than in pre 3.x Versions!
Support
Different Levels of Support are available. It can take some time for an answer, greatly depends on scope and background.
Documentation
Wiki & forum search answer if you are used to spend some time on comprehension & trying things. Walk-Troughs outdated, concepts still valid.
Value for money
I used this to: Already did 2 Applications Actually in Use by a small Teams in various Businesses. Simply playing around with fabrik and a basic python-course on Udacity once were my "Education" for getting my head into php / javascript and opening up new fields in my profession - love it!
As somebody already mentioned here, the downloadable version has much less feature than the Github version. The difference is enormous. Is there a reason for this? Current stable versiosn is NOT what Fabrikar claims to be. Github version is useless since its's totally buggy. Developer support and forum is dead.
