I am using Autostand from Sept 09. Now June 2010, and I am quite happy with the paid version, it works as it should. Novice users can also implement this quite easily. The only issue remains "Design". I think developer should focus on improving the design to give it a feel of Web 2.0 - Now that we are stepping in Web 2.1 :-))) this extension still is not very well presentable. No offense, I will still rate it 5 stars as the extension works great! - I hope to see better design and a great presentation on frontend in future.

This extension does what it has to do. It is absolutely worth the commercial price, I would recommend it.



Got it working in just a few hours and modifications are easy. Ships with a couple of modules as well. Some minor things could be improved but as we are speaking of open source here, I made a start contributing by creating some Dutch translation files and making some minor changes to make it even better. You can find the documentation, the Dutch language file for the V2.7 and a little more here:

Perfect extension

I just started with Joomla for about a week now (after always building standard html/php/mysqls sites) and needed a plugin to list boats (not cars). Found Autostand and downloaded Autostand this weekend. Install was easy, changing files from 'cars' to 'boats' was easy. within a few hours I had a test version ready. Management of the cars (boats) is easy and clear. Frontend looks great on our custom template (yes it works on our template).

My mail with a few questions was answered very quickly (even on Sunday)... so support is great!

These guys really deserve my review!Excellent package! In a few minutes, I had the demo site ready for my client, wich was based in their demo site.Besides the extension and modules included, the latest plugin released for Xmap was "gold on blue". The documentation may need a review of the English, but you can read the explanations and it's very helpful in at start.

Good support. Send 2 emails requesting some minor changes in the layout, reply as clear a simple.



By the way, the demo site is an excellent reference to see this extension at work.

Thanks for this great extension, and it is arranged in a professional manner. But i have one suggestion, in the search section one portion is there MAKE which is a drop down list, and MODEL which is a text box, in most of the auto websites the search section contains MODEL as drop down list and its convenient for users. And you have done a great job and wish you all the success in developing the updated versions with more useful functionality which joomla community is going to use and appreciate your work.

As mentioned before, is without doubt an excellent pack. As many others have done, tried other extensions before purchasing this, and so far I am very pleased. They have a good support, and the price is very fair, taking into account what is included in the pack. It has yet to evolve a little, but from what we have seen, I believe will greatly improve.

I had tried a few of the other components and couldn't achieve the result I needed. Then I tried this.

Before purchase - I contacted support as I was concerned that it wouldn't work correctly with my self-created template. Nuno (in support) offered to test it for me and then showed me the component working with my template - He also gave some template suggestions to make it even better.

After purchase - I had lots of requests/changes. Nuno actioned all requests extremely promptly and efficiently.



I have NEVER experienced such incredible support, EVER.



If I good mark this a 10 - I would.

I am giving this component an "excellent" review based on the support and response I have received from the developers during the past 30-45 days.



They have been quick to respond, and quick to address some changes I asked for. The component itself works very solidly. Of course like all components, there are always features it could use but does not currently have. That's ok, it appears the Autostand Team is actively working the project and making an effort to improve their product.



It was well worth it to me and my client (New and Used Car dealership in the US) to purchase said product and we look forward to a great relationship with the developers.

Really Good Estension

When I decide to aquire it after a few emails with the team I knew that it was almost perfect.I had started to use this component for a week and it did exactly what I was expecting. In general, it as been improving a lot since it's release and with one more or 2 updates it's a 8 stars rating! There are some areas that need to enhance such as the search... and despite the flaws as a lot of great features. Nice modules,and extras such as the templates, as simple documentation, is certainly an excellent package.

And the best part, you can use it with any type of vehicle. Cars, bikes, boats (In my case RV's.



It can improve a lot to become a reference, and from the work I've seen I really think they will get there.

Very poor component, the free version using with legacy mode it is much better than the commercial version. On the free version you can upload photos for each vehicle, on the comercial version you have to upload to a general folder, and then chosse the pics from a long list of pics, the free version give you the chosse to write keywords for each vehicle, the comercial version doesnt have this choose. I don´t recoment the comercial version.
Owner's reply: Thank you for your review ...In order to clear things, we used this option with the images, so that users can use FTP to upload the images, and/or use media manager to upload images. This was one of the many requests we had, the option to upload images by ftp, so when we make the option, here you have the review...Why not refer this also to joomla? When you post some article,you upload the images first to stories folder right?And then select the images to use in the article.
Keywords for each vehicle is also something that users didn't used much, so we removed this option.
And the most important of all, the free version does NOT work in Joomla 1.5.x, not even with legacy.
Another thing I don't understand, is why users post such reviews, comparing with other extensions, and voted 1 and probably didn't even acquired the extension that they are reviewing?
Glad that we also have done the free version, but unfortunately didn't get your good review when it was available here in JED...
