Introduction

Articles Images, Images

The EasyImageCaption plugin for Joomla generates captions from article images’ title or alt attributes and displays them below (or above) the images. An optional data-copyright attribute can be used to display copyright or license information for the image next to the caption.

How It Works

EasyImageCaption works out-of-the-box. After installation through Joomla’s extension manager, you just have to enable it, and all your article images will automatically show captions on front-end pages. You may however restrict “captionizing” to certain images or certain articles through the plugin parameters.

The generated source code is 100% valid HTML5 for maximum browser compatibility and smooth integration into your website. Captions will also work on responsive websites (depending on your template, you may have to add some additional CSS).

The captions can be styled individually through your template’s CSS file(s) or through the built-in basic style settings.

This Plugin is pretty easy to install and configure. It works incredibly well for my Images in Modules, but for some reason it doesn't work in my Articles.. It also doesnt matter if i remove the caption.js or keep them linked..

Works great!

I had used Joomla CK as editor when I uploaded the article images. So when I tried to use the Joomla default image caption method, it didn't work. I had also made my own image class, but Joomla use their own class. So EasyImageCaption was a lifesaver :-)
I loved how quick and easy this was to install and publish. Simply enable the plugin after install and determine whether I want to use ALT or TITLE tags for the caption.

I plan on installing this extension on all of the sites I manage.

Excellent extension

Excellent job! It was SOOO easy to install and use. Thanks so very much!
Sometimes the captions appear, other times all I get is the first word of the caption. I am just using them in articles. I am going to have to look for something else. I can find no reason why some work and others don't. I need consistency an am not getting it.
Owner's reply: I haven't heard of this problem so far. Feel free to send me an e-mail through my website and show me the errors you get.

Very pleased

Easy to work with

This plugin is fantastic! It is simple to use and lets you choose either the Alt-Text or the Title field for the display. While it would be great if it showed the text within the editor, that isn't how a plugin works most of the time with joomla. Now instead of needing to embed a module with some custom HTML, I can just load my pictures and normal and have all the styling I need.

FABULOUS Service!!

When I initially installed the plugin, I couldn't get it to work. I then emailed Thomas who explained that the plugin only worked with regular article content, not in the modules that I needed it to work in.

He then took it upon himself to make the changes that I needed for me! He is fabulous and his service is fabulous!

Thank you for your help Thomas! :)

Perfect solution!

Very helpful to create captions; should be an inbuilt joomla plugin

works perfect, saves time; looks great out of the box - and has no styling limitations.

Great!

Installed it, and literally within seconds it was up and running! And, you get to choose whether to automatically create captions for images already published or not, other variables, I love it, easy, looks nice, great plug in.
