Important Note about Google Photos: The free version of Event Gallery limits Flickr and Google Photos to 30 photos per album.

Functionality
The gallery is exceptionally flexible for adding 1000's of images, categorizing, titling & inserting long descriptions. Also sell photos.
Ease of use
This extension is very intuitive and easily installed.
Support
Support is outstanding! Trouble tickets are addresed promptly through Sven's secure site. He even helped me while he was in the hospital.
Documentation
The manual is well written and you can also use it to learn all the fine points...and there's a lot!
I used this to: I use this extension to categorize generations of family images.

Ok
I used this to: Joomla site for a photografer. The need to have several albums displayed, protected by a watermark, and through htaccess is through this module backed into a perfect solution.

Capable of multiple features such as layout designs, sharing, downloading and lightbox view, which gives it a ton of possibilities.
Ease of use
Easy to install, even for a rookie coder. When theres a problem, theres a lot of ways to solve it even as a free version.

Very good support! Sven is professionel and very generous when it comes to advise and solutions. Plus he gives a fast reply!

There is a lot of documentation! (Maybe even too much, since it can seem confusing?)

I used this to: Photo gallery. I really liked the way the images are tiled and the 'Event Tile List" displays the images with a small caption beneath.

I didn't use the download- or cart-functions but nevertheless this serves as a great and simple gallery tool. And it looks really awesome!
