Well worth the cost

Had tried other free upgrade extensions before and did not like the results. Decided to pay for SP Upgrade after hearing about it.



It worked very well, but i came across a few problems, where it appeared not to work properly. My fault, not the extension.



I decided to contact their support and within a few emails, they went into my site and sorted it all out for me.



Excellent customer support makes the upgrade from 1.5 to 2.5 a smooth task, making this extension well worth the cost.

I have very good experiences with SP Upgrade, that tool just works beautifully and I am very content with the results. Did several migrations with this, where other tools stuck ... so now I am just using this one (never change a winning System).

This is a wonderful component, saves a lot of time and is reliable to migrate a big 'chunk' of old Joomla! 1.5 sites. A MUST HAVE for web designers/developers who are still managing 1.5 sites.

The developer is at different time zone than America but everytime I wrote, he answered back with explanations and even customized the upgrade script to fit my specific need. Upgrade program itself works great. Saves ALOT of time.

This is worth the money. Keeping ID's for SEO really counts and you will regret it if you don't. I'm am doing a pretty big migration and it is going smooth (lots of extensions). If the worst I can say is there could be some better wording on the mouseovers... it says a lot! :)

Needed to upgrade one of my commercial sites from 1.5.23 to a supported version. I've been using other update tools before, but this the first I've seen where you create the new installation first and then migrate the old content over to your development site. That's how it should be done! No fiddling with the production site, before everything has been adapted and tested!



I tried to migrate directly to 3.0, but ran into display / override problems w/ Joomla's native Contacts component, so I went back to 2.5, again using SP Ugrade. And again it took me less than 30 mins to migrate everything!



Especially, I like the idea that SP Upgrade manages the core stuff for you, and then it has the capability to copy over custom tables (in my case to use with Breezingforms). Worked like a charm!



5 stars obviously!
