Introduction

Use this tool to transfer files or database items between two different Joomla! sites, or duplicate items within your live site. This is a 'mass' copy/paste tool necessary for ALL Joomla! administrators.

In the old Joomla! 1.5 when you wanted to transfer database items to a different Joomla, just an export/import of the required database tables would do the job. With the new Joomla! 1.6, 1.7, 2.5, 3.x, 4.x, 5.x and above, this is no longer possible. This tool is doing just exactly that.

Also suitable for upgrading Joomla! 2.5 to 3.x, or 4.x. or 5.x

I emailed a question and was answered within 1 hour (I am on the other side of the planet) with a solution for my issue.

It is a simple component, and the documentation is clear.

I used this to: I had a joomla site that had been caught up in a version problem.
This caused an issue with any further updates, as the database record was incorrect -even modification of the database entry had not fixed it. SP Transfer to the rescue. Clean empty install - then transfer the dat

finnaly "tiny" migration 2.5.28 to 3.4.1 did succeed

I used this to: migration 2.5.28 to 3.4.1 out of the joomla box and through upgrade files was a disaster: white screens in front- and backend, lots of errors. Even after disabling all modules and de-install all 3th parties extensions!
But SP Transfer did the job!

Functionality
Everything that should be transfered, has been transfered fine. Had one problem with strange aliases, but that has been solved immediately.
Ease of use
Just install, enter Database & FTP Information and then select the things you would like to transfer.

Responses fast and helpfull

Leaves no questions unanswered. The funtionalit is mostly self-explaining.
Value for money
Yes!
I used this to: After spending a lot of time with several failing upgrades from J2.5 -> J3.4, I've set up a fresh & empty J3.4 and transfered all data from J2.5 to the new version. At least, this was a pretty fast and clean solution.

Functionality
I upgraded from Joomla 1.7 to Joomla 3.4.1 without any problems.
Ease of use
You should be familiar with the basics of Joomla core and databases since you should know what to transfer, where from, etc.

Great support, answered me in less than 6 hours during the night.
Documentation
Value for money
I am happy that I paid for the extension and supported the developer since he deserves it.

It worked like it said it would and transferred the data I needed easily.
Ease of use
I'd love there to be a wizard that would walk you through the process with tooltips on the way.

Panayiotis was quick to respond to my queries.
Documentation
Could be better - but with tooltips and a wizard - would be great!
Value for money
Whilst it seems a little pricey, the cost saving of time from the product was well worth it.

SP Transfer does exactly what it is designed to do. More than we expected.

It is easy to use and the options for transferring files are exceptional.

Excellent support. We asked - they answered. We hit snags - they helped.
Documentation
Documentation is online and quite helpful. Everything is explained.
Value for money
Excellent value for the task. Well worth the price.
I used this to: We transferred over 10,000 files quickly and easily from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3.0. This was our last hope as we were told a developer was needed. We are awestruck by how effective SP Transfer works. This allowed us to set up a complete staging site with files.

Simply the Best! Five Stars.

Functionality
Plenty of options to transfer virtually any tables and all Joomla core content.
Ease of use
Easy as pie, just setup the source database details in the options and then it lists the tables that you can choose to transfer (tick boxes)
Support
Didn't need any, exactly the way it should be.
Documentation
The fields all have hover tooltips explaining what its for and what to enter into it. That's the best documentation to use.
Value for money
I'm a designer and one of our clients had a flaw in their old Joomla installation, I just saved hours and hours for a small fee.
I used this to: Migrating data to fresh installations removing errors and glitches that were introduced in various update paths. I don't normally write reviews, it's taken me longer to write this that transfer all the data across to a clean installation, Good job on this extension!
