JCE MediaBox is an extension for Joomla! for creating responsive lightbox-style popups for images, video and article content.

With support for most common media formats, from images to video (mp4, wmv, quicktime etc.), Youtube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, and other content (pdf, html, external web pages, internal Joomla content), MediaBox can display using 6 different themes - Standard, Light, Shadow, Squeeze, UIKit and Bootstrap (The UIKit and Bootstrap themes require that your template is using one of these css frameworks).

Excellent Free Popup Extension

Functionality
JCE MediaBox is perfect for a simple free popup. You can also group media into a lightbox slideshow.
Ease of use
JCE MediaBox is fairly easy to configure from the documentation on the website.
Support
Good support is available via the forum on the developer website.
Documentation
There is clear and sufficient documentation on the developer website.
I used this to: A have been using JCE MediaBox as a replacement for RokBox since RokBox was not upgraded for Joomla 4 and later.

Functionality
Excellent. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for this plugin!
Ease of use
Very good. At first I was searching where to find it. It is there in the Image Manager Extended button, Plugins tab.
Support
Not required at all. I found what I was looking for before looking for support.
Documentation
It would help if the site wrote where to find it after you install it. I was looking for a button to add, but I guess you get it in a while.
I used this to: showing larger images in a popup! Excited to see what else I can do.

Functionality
More media functionality than you can shake a stick at... or is that click at mouse at?
Ease of use
Once you get around the installation and setting up the options it is a breeze to use. The learning curve might be steep for some newcomers
I used this to: I use JCE Media Box with JCE Editor on every Joomla! website I have designed and published for probably close to the last 10 years. In total I estimate that will be 60+ websites.

I've used the JCE editor on all my sites since it exists. And sometimes I also used Mediabox. Now I tried many lightbox extensions and come to the conclusion that Mediabox is the best.

Goes on every Joomla! installation

JCE and several of its plugins have been a staple in my Joomla! arsenal for years... Mediabox is one of them.



Great extension, active support forum... excellent all around.

I really like the media box in combination with the JCE Editor.



It gives rookies a good chance to create popup thumbnails or even articles within a lightbix!

I'm a total newbie and I installed this and use it along with your other JCE Extensions. Your extensions make it easy for even a guy like me, that doesn't know much -- to do some cool stuff w/ Joomla! Thanks you!

I used to use this plugin on every website I set up... but then I got out of the game for a while and when I got back in I could not remember what it was called. So glad I found it, it's a must for any website. Would give it 6 stars if I could.
