VirtueMart is a highly configurable and customizable multi-language shopping cart solution for Joomla 3, 4, 5 with a large number of additional extensions.

Virtuemart meets many needs. High quality and very fast support. I must say it, one year ago I started making websites with Joomla and Virtuemart and I have saved much time and money. Thanks to the team.

It's my choice for e-commerce projects, but I hope that we will have a better VIRTUEMART in the future that takes in consideration those points:



1/ Re-factor the code, with the best practices, modern coding style, and a better MVC implementation



2/ Better user experience, for both front and back office



3/ Better support, and documentation



4/ Improve the roadmap, and the testing process to avoid the short period between minor versions

I have been using virtuemart for years and the update to 2.0 is a good one. I like the fact that everything is customizable and prefer it over Prestashop and (maybe) Magento. But this is because it is native to me after all the times I have used it.



Only 1 big point of improvement: multishop compatibility. Now it needs a hack-a-round to do this and with multiple shops selling partially the same products it is a necessity for my inventory.

I'm happy with this!

If you know a little about programming, you can adjust almost everything. And besides, there are a lot of commercial modules/componants or plugins to help you. Most of the times it would cost you less than 10 dollar.



The forum works great, people are willing trying to help you with everything for no payment...



So why not try Virtuemart. Download some templates, download some extensions for it and make it work :)

Best e-Commerce Component on Joomla

I am grateful to all options offered by virtuemart, I think that is a component designed to customize each store, so that the default version may not be the most "pretty" but there are many options for customization.



I think the virtuemart team is doing a great job, I hope soon launch version 2.1 for joomla 3 and hope they will include the option multi shop.



Obviously there are many paid options that may have advantages, but I think many of these benefits are covered by the large number of extensions that exist for virtuemart.



I think you can improve a lot more, but have done a great job so far.

This is an excellent shopping system for any business to use. It just about does everything, and what it can't do out of the box, then there are plenty of helpful experts and enthusiasts to give you advice and show you some great tips on getting the best from it. I have created several online shops now and haven't even used anywhere near the full features yet. Highly recommended. FP

The easiest and most customizable ecommerce available for Joomla. Just works out of the box and very easy to customize the design.

One of very best catalogs for products ever used, easy of use and intuitive administration. only one problem that i met with languages bug, but nothing comes free

Overall a very frustrating experience

I've built a handful of e-commerce sites using Virtuemart, and its never not been a miserable experience. I spend more time trying to fix broken features (product sort ordering, trashed layouts, buggy modules, its something new every time) than actually building/managing the store. Its really difficult explaining to clients that I have such little control over their store. Even right out of the box, Virtuemart has caused me nothing but pain.
Owner's reply: We are sorry that you experienced such problems, many times when people have stated they created many stores, we find their expectations are based on previous experience, however the new VM2 is different and therefore in some ways needs to be thought of without previous expectations and considerations. please install without anything else and play, you might be surprised.
