The 'Attachments' extension for Joomla! allows files to be uploaded and attached to articles and other types of content. URLs can also be attached. 'Attachments' includes the ability to attach files and edit attachments from the front end as well as from the administrative back end. There are options to control who can see the attachments and who can upload them, along with many other options to increase its flexibility and usefulness. There are versions for Joomla 3, 4, and 5.

Attachments gives you several ways to add, edit, and delete your attachments on the front end, back end, and in article editors on the front and back ends (including during article creation). There are many options to control who can see attachments. When you add or edit attachments, page updates are done quickly without full page reloads.

If you plan to use this extension for sensitive files, use the 'Secure' mode. This provides secure storage of attachment files and prevents access by anyone without logging in.

INSTALLATION IS SIMPLE: Use the Joomla installer with the single installation zip file (available here or on github, see below). The component and all plugins are installed in a single step. Attachments uses the Joomla "upgrade" capability and can be installed over previous versions of Attachments.

WARNING: To uninstall Attachments go to the extension manager and search for: "Package: Attachments for Joomla". Uninstall it and it will uninstall the Attachments component and all Attachments plugins.

I stuck with file uploading feature in frontend article posting section. One of my friend reffered this component. And i tried install. Amazing. No extra options need to set. It display on frontend article editor. Just uploaded and saved. Its cool.



Please check it, i got invalid token issue some times. But it is not and big error for plugin.



This plugin got saved me. I would like to donate you some coins :)

This utility is almost perfect. I installed it in my 1.5 system and it mostly works great. The only problem is that when you add or modify attachment lists to an article it does not set the dirty flag on the article. So you either have to wait for the Joomla cache to expire and update the article or you must make a change to the article itself and save it to get Joomla to regenerate the front page and show the attachments. Other than that it appears to work well.

Fantastic and easy to use component!

It's really fantastic and could not be easier to use.



Only thing I am missing is an option to sort or even group the uploaded attachments. I have quite many on one page...

This extension crashed my site!

After installing and finding out that he attachments are not secure enough for my porpose I wanted to uninstall it.



After that the frontend went white!



Reinstalling solved it, the frontend was ok again.



But after reinstalling again both gone white, frontend and backend!



Thats really odd!



I like this extension and used it in several sites but this is a no go!

Just installed the release version for Joomla! 3.x It's exactly what I was looking for and what I hoped it would be :-)



Just click on the "Add attachment" link when editing a document and that's it. Works from the front-end or back-end and there's plenty of display options, etc.



Quick word about the developer, Jonathan. Very quick to reply to queries. Top stuff and a really good extension as well :-)

I was waiting for Attachment ver. that works with Joomla 3, Great extension. I Thank the developer for timely release. I have used it in the past on 2.5+ sites without any problem. Thank you very much.

This little plugin is super-useful for those users who are not that adept at using Joomla, and need an easier way to upload and attach files to an article.



I had a slight issue, but Jonathan was there helping me within an hour! Problem solved. I have not had service this good for paid plugins!
