Adds 2 cookies for every visitor, whether they want to chat or not. Tracks page views and more regardless of interaction with chat.

worked immediately but to be GDPR compliant I must offer an description of the purpose of the cookies and getting that was not possible.

Absolutely useless, dismissive and sarcastic. Could (or would) not describe cookie purposes.

tawk.to is a fully featured live text chat with no limits on sites, agents, chats. No voice chat and almost none statistics, though.

Very easy to use. Just register, add websites, add chat agents, and add the provided code(s) to your pages.

Most people will not need any. A live chat is available on their site which responds immediately.
COM_JED_DOCUMENTATION
There is no single tutorial file to download but a knowledgebase is available. It covers most aspects, but I wish it was more detailed.
COM_JED_I_USED_THIS_TO: Set on 6 websites of a hotel group, and 7 chat agents at the central offices handle all chats.

This component implements live chat in all site pages. :-(
I created instead a Custom HTML module with the provided tawk.to chat code, choosing the pages the chat should appear. :
