Introduction

Modals - make links open in modal popups.

Modals is a powerful plugin that allows you to easily create cool modal popups on your site.

Modal popup windows are fancy popups also known as Lightboxes.

You can make modals / lightboxes for whatever you want: text, articles, other internal pages, external pages, images, videos, and even full-blown Modal Image Galleries & Slideshows with thumbnail creation.

Modals is packed with options to control the modal popups.

There are several ways Modals can covert links:
★ Via the special Modal tags {modal ...}...{/modal}
★ By class names (all links with defined class names)
★ All external links
★ By target="_blank" (all links with a target. Internal and/or external)
★ By filetypes (all links to given filetypes)
★ By url matches (also supports regular expressions)

The Modal tags are simple:

I bought the PRO version of this extension as it had a feature I needed, and then I discovered I needed a small enhancement. The developer responded to my request within an hour and released a new version the next day. Fantastic support!

As for the product, it works like a charm and is very easy to use and like all his extensions is well documented.

I've been using Modals for a couple of weeks and it works very smoothly and is quite easy to customize.

When I suggested a new feature, I was sent a new version with this feature included the next day.

Pretty cool....

I used this with a rockettheme template. Worked perfectly! Unlike others I tested, it displayed beautifully and is responsive, even with my div floats. THANK YOU!!!

One of the best modal plugins out there. Were JCE Editor's popup modal fails, No Number Modals blows your mind!

Had a lot of trouble with JCE. Now switched to No Number. Support is great, even for the free versions! Had a few problems with interference

Used Modals with an ARI Data Table - Great Support for a Newbie

I am relatively new using Joomla and I am using ver. 3.2.3. I had an application that needed to combine two extensions to produce what I was looking for. I already had a table of records that was created with ARI Data Table and I wanted a link to open a popup from records in the table. I downloaded the free version of Modals and went to work. I quickly got the popup to work but I had trouble configuring the link in the table. Once I got the link working, the popup stopped working. I contacted Peter the author of Modals and received a prompt reply with some suggestions. It took me several days to figure out what was going on, (remember I am new to Joomla), but Peter was patient and continued to offer suggestions for me to try. With his help it is now working and I love how it turned out. It works exactly as described.

Now I have some ideas for a few other places to use Modals on my site.

I wanted something to link an article to pop up to a new window inside the joomla, but modal is more. Is linking menus too. You can link a photo and open a youtube video to a popup window (amazing future). You can link a photo to open in a beautifull popup, and much, much more, that i will explore, one by one.

This plugin work very well, it is so easy to configure and meets the requirements of, for instance, the templates that don't have pop-ups modules.

The support is excelent too: you get your answers quick and in a clear way, so nothing can keep you waiting.
