Introduction

Modules Management

This is a module that will randomly display other modules from a module position of your choosing.

Put all the modules you want to have randomly appear in a new position, for example "randompos".

Then create a new instance of the "Random Module" module, place it into an actual layout position that displays in your template, and under "Basic Options -> Position" enter the "randompos" position or whichever position your pool of random modules are located.

Functionality
Works great. Randomly selects modules from your list and displays them in the position you want.
Ease of use
Place in a real position on your site. Create a new position "rdm-pos". Assign a couple of modules to "rdm-pos" and one will show!
Support
I didn't need support. It worked fine for me right from the start.
Documentation
There's not a lot of documentation, but you don't need it. There is literally one single field to fill in to make this work.
I used this to: I have three of these on my home page. A left, center, and right. I've assigned about 5 modules to each and I get 3 random modules across my page. Each time you go to the page you get a different group of modules across the page.

Useless

Functionality
The modules must be published in a valid position of the same manu item, ergo you will have duplicated stuff
Ease of use
Easy to use but still useless
Functionality
Does exactly what it says!
Ease of use
I think this was the easiest module i ever installed!
Support

Documentation
Not needed
I used this to: Showing layer slider on a random basis in a module position

Super easy

Functionality
This is a one-trick pony—nice and simple, works as advertised.
Ease of use
With one configuration option, it doesn't get any easier.
I used this to: Displaying a randomly selected module.
Functionality
This was just what I wanted, installed, setup and running within minutes.
Ease of use
The module was very straightforward to setup. I did amend the code slightly to show the title of the module being loaded.
I used this to: I used this module to display maps from random categories on my directory website. If the map showed every category there were too many markers, the page took an age to load, so I decided to produce a different map module for each category then show one at random each page load.
