MCP server for Joomla 5 and 6

The MCP server runs inside Joomla itself. There is no separate server to host, no Node.js bridge and no script to maintain: install the package, connect your assistant, and start working.

What you can do with the free pack

• Articles: search, read, create, edit, publish, unpublish, reorder and delete articles, including images, metadata, publishing dates, featured state, custom field values and tags.
• Categories and tags: create, edit, organise and delete them.
• Version history: list the versions of an article, compare two versions and restore one.
• Site information: languages, access levels, installed components, Joomla and PHP versions, so the assistant knows your site before it acts.
• Checks: fetch a front-end page as a visitor to verify the result.
• Cache: clear the Joomla caches, and the JCH Optimize cache if you use it.

That is 34 tools, free of charge, with no limit on the number of sites.

Security first

• OAuth 2.1 authorization with standard discovery endpoints, dynamic client registration and PKCE. A Joomla API token can be used instead for clients that need one.
• Every tool is checked against Joomla's own ACL: the assistant can only do what the connected user account is allowed to do.
• Each tool can be switched off individually, and a read-only mode blocks every write operation.
• Access is granted per client and can be revoked at any time. Passwords are never exposed.

Compatible AI assistants

The free pack is complete on its own. Optional paid plugins add tools for other areas of Joomla:

Every plugin is released under the GNU GPL. A licence gives access to downloads, updates and support; it never restricts what the extension does on your site.
