RokCandy provides BBCode style macro functionality for Joomla. It provides a WYSIWYG-safe macro syntax to allow you to easily add complex HTML with a simple BBCode macro. RokCandy changes the preset syntax, such as [example] to the relevant HTML code during the rendering of the Joomla article.

RokCandy allows you to create complex HTML output as simple macros to allow your complex content to be created quickly and easily with a minimum of fuss.

Functionality

I used this to: It gives me the incredible ability to add HTML to things like Joomla! menu item titles. Joomla! is designed to strip out ordinary HTML code entered in fields such as that - greatly limiting at times. With RokCandy, no need to bother with overrides for every little styling tweak.

Thanks for this really useful plugin to create my own BBCode macros!
Ease of use
Each macro contains a field for the macro and one of the html syntax. The macros could be grouped in categories. It's simple.
I used this to: style the scientific names of fungi species italic in the article titles: http://www.entoloma.de/pilzfunde.html
It would be great if RokCandy support frontend editing in future, because the [i][/i]-macro in the title is changing to -tags and them wouldn't saved.

Thanks for this good plugin! I wish it could also handle spaces inside. I also add trouble to make it work with different values between the brackets (itle + link + text). But it does the job! Thanks!

It's nice but I had a problem with W3C validation. It's not correct to put html tags inside the content of meta tag like a title or alt.

I've had great luck with this extension and love it but I did run into problems with Joomla 1.6 and 1.7. RokCandy just didn't work - it didn't render out correctly and gave gibberish. I found out if I went to Article Manager > Options > Text Filters and set my filter group to "No Filtering" it fixed the problem with RocCandy. I had tried fixing it in my editor config (JCE) by preventing stripping of code but that didn't work. Hope this helps because it's a great extension!

I want a span in my menu-titles, to have a second line of text. With RokCandy this is easy to do.

Hi



I used RokCandy with Joomla 1.5 some years.

Excellent!

And I tested RokCandy with Joomla 1.7.0.

All worked OK.

But macro not used switch from category.

Macro work if category swith to other language or of category.

If you switch on support category option (ON/OFF and language) - RokCandy will be ready for Joomla 1.7.0

If you want I can help you as tester of new release or etc.
